Buitenhuizen
Located between Velserbroek and the North Sea Canal lies Buitenhuizen, a beautiful nature reserve within Spaarnwoude where your dog is allowed to run freely in most areas (maximum of 3 dogs per handler). We highly recommend the 8-kilometer-long Buitenhuizen Route, where your four-legged friend can run around freely for most of the way. Between October 1 and April 1, dogs are even allowed to run on the beaches and swim in the ponds. Parking is free on Buitenhuizerweg.
Houtrak
In the Houtrak nature reserve, conveniently located between Haarlem and Amsterdam, you’ll find a dog paradise spanning no less than 100 hectares. In the northern part, your four-legged friend is free to roam almost anywhere, romp around, and cool off in the water. Dogs must be kept on a leash only in the southern part and within the Burgemeester Michielsenweg. You can park for free in one of the many parking lots surrounding the area, after which you can enjoy an endless walk together.
